Anonymous - Revolutionaries or Anarchists

Anonymous, you may recognise them by their infamous Guy Fawkes masks, popularised by the film V for Vendetta, which appears to have become an unofficial Icon for the global anti capitalism movement. Seeming to have a strong presence in the Occupy LSX camps as well as others across the globe, is this group spearheading a global revolution or are they just a group of anarchists with a lot of time to kill?

St Paul's March on Parliament

My week at the St Paul's camps ended on Saturday with a planned march on parliament, crowds from inside and outside the camp massed on the steps of St Paul's, and at about 3pm began a march to Parliament Square. Images from the march will feature as part of the full story.

The Syrian's Join St Paul's

On my second night at the St Paul's Camps we were joined by a group of Syrian's, some of which are staying here and some had come from outside the camps. A live feed from Syria was set up in the archway of the Cathedral to stream a pro democracy protest direct from Syria in which we could all bare witness. After the live feed, the Syrian's broke out into chants of freedom and pro democracy, in unity with the multi-cultural anti-capitalist occupiers.

Below are some images from the demonstration, more to follow as part of the full story of my time here.

Occupy St Paul's - Anti Capitalism Camps

So, my first day (and night) documenting these historic events. I am astounded by the diversity, organisation and sense of community here, there is a library, medical centre, food centre and democratic town hall style meetings 2 times daily to discuss the future direction of the camp. The camp feels extremely safe at night despite being right in the centre of London town, and last night I had one of the best nights sleep I have had in weeks.

There is also a lot of media here, all covering the same generic press style stories, I witnessed an interview by a journalist today in which she provided the interviewee with the answers she wished him to read prior to the Interview, and interesting Journalistic approach.

I have posted a couple of Images from today, but there will be more to follow in the next couple of days, and a full story when I decide to return.

Windows to the Soul

I read your windows to the Soul, your gateway to the heart,
their poems for the speechless, their voices in the dark,
your colours loud and empty, reflections in the light,
your colours sent to tempt me, protection in the night,
caves of darkness crying, mistake love and regret,
their beauty never dying, lost souls they never met,
a life not lived forgotten, of memories never made,
dreams I see once pondered, now darkness in the shade.
